Our own American Idol will deliver an unplugged version of her hit single "Tattoo" during Wednesday's Jordin Sparks' Afternoon Acoustic Event at 3 p.m. at Skye. I like the "ever-intriguing Sanjaya Malakar" part. From this description, it sounds like the singing took place in the afternoon and they just have to meet people tonight.

American Idol Jordin Sparks entertained fans Wednesday afternoon and was expected to mingle with celebs through the evening at Peoria's Skye restaurant.

The homegrown Glendale girl's concert attracted a lot of the under-18 crowd. Okay, make that younger than 12. Burly security guards held back a sea of screaming 5- to 8-year-olds with "I love Jordin" signs.

Spark's dad and former New York Giants player Phillippi Sparks said the afternoon concert was to give back to fans who helped launch her career.





"If it wasn't for them, she wouldn't be where she is today," he said.

Sparks was joined by other 2007 AI stars Melinda Doolittle, Chris Richardson and Sanjaya Malakar. Doolittle, who arrived in the Valley in time to catch Phoenix Suns game Tuesday, belted out her anthem I am a Woman. Doolittle said Sparks didn't have to ask her twice.

"This is my baby girl. I'd do anything for her," she said.

Richardson, sporting flannel shirt and bandana, sang a couple of acoustic songs. Malakar, the wild-haired wonder, let slip that he and his sister Shyamali are negotiating to host a TV variety show.
Jordin, in a cute cream, pinstriped short-sleeved jacket coupled with jeans, went for the straight-haired look and sang three songs including Tattoo for adoring fans.

"She's the sweetest girl ever," Isaac Bolivar, 21, said of Sparks.

Bolivar's Tragedy Andy band with musicians from San Francisco and Portland rocked outside Skye. Bolivar said he's now in love with Arizona's sunsets and happy people.

DISAPPOINTING EVENT IN Glendale, AZ
on Jordin Sparks Celebrity Charity Gala

I attended this event today and was extremely disappointed. If I could assign a rating on a scale of 1-5 I would rate it a -10. I purchased 5 tickets to take my nieces and sister to see Jordin perform at the Skye Restaurant. The promotional literature on this site and Ticket Master falsely advertised this event. The event time was to be 3:00pm to 5:30pm and there were to be 3 other Idol finalists performing with Jordin. Instead, the event wasn't in the Restaurant, but in a tent in a parking lot next to it. The sound system was terrible and voices squaked from time to time, sounding like a badly played clarinet. There were no chairs and it was standing room only. (There were a couple rows of chairs but these were for certain people. So we stood for 2.5 hours on concrete and my neices could not see the stage over the people in front of us. The concert didn't start until about 3:40pm. We had to listen to no name groups until Sanjhiah sung a song or two { ) , followed by 2 songs by Chris Richardson and 2 by Melinda Doolittle. In between, there was a representative from a radio station who seemed to be stalling and he was terrible. Finally, after 5:00pm, Jordin came out and sung 3 songs and that was it!!! I paid $25 per ticket for all of this and am furious that this event was misrepresented and that we did not get what we expected and paid for. I expected seats in the venue (SKYE restaurant to see a live concert with a good sound system, and Jordin Sparks singing the majority of the time. I am requesting my money be refunded and want to hear from the responsible party (NX Level Entertainment) as to why this event was misrepresented or I will seek out the responsible parties and hold them responsible for not giving the attendees what they paid to see. I know this was for charity, but I still want my money back so I can donate it somewhere else! I'm sorry, but a tent located in a parking lot was not where this event should have been held. For my neices, this was their first experience at a concert and they were disappointed and bored. The sound was so poor, that they had to cover their ears. These were not younger girls, but 11 and 14 year olds. I was embarassed that I took them to see it. THIS WAS A DISCRACE!!!!

However, I'm sooo mad right now!!! And I bet with me zillion other Fanjayas! Awe.. the lill'suckers!

And Poor Jordin too! Going through all this? awe blast for her too, huh?
I so hope for her she doesn't let this influence her singing at the SuperBowl. It's supposed to be big and happy event for her!
But some sucker obviously didn't quite want it to be that. Argh!

What's happening in the over-21 event, now, during the evening?

I saw Shy in the video a little bit and look at Sanjaya I feel bad that Jordin is feeling sick. Hopefully she'll get better before the superbowl.
